PERSONAL  PROFILE

Bing Hu, professor. He graduated from USTC and obtained Bachelor Degree of Biophysics in 1989, Master Degree of Biophysics in 1992 and Doctoral Degree from Shanghai Institute of Physiology of ChineseAcademy of Sciences in 1999 (jointly trained by Shanghai Institute of Physiology of ChineseAcademy of Sciences and Medical Faculty of the University  of Hong Kong). In 2001 he served as a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Anatomy, Medical Faculty of the University of Hong Kong; from January 2002 to November 2004 he served as a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Los  Angeles & Irvine). In 2007, before he joined into USTC, he served as a Research Officer at Department of Anatomy, Medical Faculty of the University of Hong Kong. Over the years he has studied neurodevelopment, neuronal and myelin injury and repair. He has published over 61 academic papers in SCI journals, 3 chapters in books with 2067 citations. He has been supported by 8 grants from NSFC and 3 grants from MOST. One of his major interests focuses on the single Mauthner motor neuronal regeneration as well as remyelination using zebrafish as a model organism.
